Another month down! I say it every month but time is flying by; it’s now less than five months until Christmas day which is exciting if not a bit scary! The heat this month has been unreal makeup has been melting off my face so I’m still sticking with a minimal look – as per! I don’t quite understand if ‘Favourites’ posts are supposed to be new favourites or a general ‘what I love this month’ but it’s my blog so there is definitely a mix in here!
Starting with the new release by Becca their BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Endless Bronze & Glow. This doesn’t give Chrissy Teigan like cheekbones which I had hoped for but it does make my skin look bronzed and glowing which is the whole point and I’ve been loving it! so much so I have a full post about it here!
I’ve actually just realised that these products have basically been my go-to face for the past week – how I didn’t realise that before I don’t know but the YSL All Hours Concealer has been a lifesaver of late. It blends like a dream and it has such a good coverage – I’ve been throwing a bit of this under my eyes and leaving my base at that.
To add to my make up I’ve been filling in my brows adding some mascara and I’m done! I won’t bore you too much as I have a whole post on what I’ve been using for my brows here but the stand out product has been this rediscovery from Rimmel. They don’t have many shades at all online so this is definitely better if you like a darker brow but it’s so easy to use and it doesn’t drag on brow hairs!
The mascara I’ve been loving lately is the Gigi Hadid for Maybelline Lash Sensational black mascara. I don’t think this is still widely available but I have a good feeling it’s just the Maybelline Lash Sensational repackaged! This does exactly as it says – it lengthens, separates and volumises. It’s not a dramatic look and definitely more of a daytime mascara but it doesn’t transfer or flake throughout the day and looks really pretty – perfect for summer!
Thank you so so much for reading my blog! I’ve been blogging a year now and I love it especially since people read it I mean isn’t that kinda the point?! Either way, I’m so grateful!
We are halfway through the year already. When did that happen?! This weather is amazing! I’m currently writing this whilst on my dinner break, I’ve volunteered for the most boring job purely because it’s outdoors and I have zero regrets! I finished uni for summer last month meaning this month has been majorly low key which is not necessarily a bad thing! That being said I only have a few favourites this month as not much is going on but the favourites I do have I love!
Lancome L’absolu Lacquer
I’ve been meaning to put this in a favourites post for a few months now but always forget to photograph it! I love how long lasting and lightweight it is and the colour is amazing! A few months on and I still reach for it which is, unfortunately, a rarity for me!
Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara
This was so hyped up and I found a mini version in my local boots so gave it ago and I’ve been really impressed! Although the past few days it’s really clumped my lashes together when I’ve applied it so I don’t know if it’s the heat or what. But other than that it makes my lashes look longer and thicker which exactly the goal!
Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel
An age-old favourite! I whipped it out after my holiday and I’ve been using it every day since. It gives a perfect glow and a little goes a long way! I can see why it’s a Chanel best seller! I would like a smaller one though for travelling and I can’t imagine ever getting to the end so the size is really unnecessary!
Mad About The House – Kate Watson-Smyth
I love this book! Most design decisions have been ‘because my book says so’. You can imagine how overjoyed my boyfriend is with this haha! I love Kate’s blog and the book is an extension of this and is so interesting I’d highly recommend to anyone if you enjoy interiors!
I hope you’ve enjoyed all my posts this month! I’ve been a bit up the wall for no apparent reason but I’m hoping to be back to normal as of next week!
Thank you so much for reading
Happy Sunday! The weather in the UK has been amazing this week which has helped me a lot with my PHB – Post-Holiday Blues! I’ve also been suffering from hayfever which is much more annoying. Because of this, I’ve been stripping my make-up back to basics to avoid the dreaded eye smudge mid-shift. I work at a wedding bar so you can imagine the hayfever caused by hundreds of flowers every day – it is not pretty!
Today I thought I show you the products I use to look presentable yet still able to rub my eyes when needed!
Primer – The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer
Bronzer – Chanel Soliel Tan De Chanel
Highlight – Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Parisian Lights
Mascara – Lancome Monsieur Big
Brows – Fleur De Force Eye Define Medium
Five, yes five products! I’m not sure how this still takes me twenty minutes to get ready in the morning but still! I have been using the Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops in Green to keep my Cuba tan up so I suppose it’s technically six. When I’m not wearing any foundation I find using a primer to blur over any pores or fine lines works wonders. The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer is perfect for this the Silicone fills pres like a dream and leaves my skin looking flawless.
I was not impressed with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Parisian Lights when I first tried it. I face I was so unimpressed I wrote a whole blog post about it but I gave it another go now my skin it a little more tanned and I love it! It gives skin a lovely golden glow which is exactly what I want in the summer!
As I said before I’ve been suffering from hayfever really badly this year so for my eyes I’ve got rid of anything that could smudge and gone with mascara and a bit of the Chanel bronzer in the socket.
I’ve recently been trying the Lancome Monsieur Big after hearing so much hype and I have not been disappointed! I found a mini travel sized one in my local Boots and gave it a go. I much prefer travel sized mascaras as I am so fussy I rarely use a whole tube but I really like this one and it definitely lives up to the hype!
I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend in the sun and you’ve enjoyed this blog post!
Thank you so much for reading
This past year I’ve tried my best to test out new mascaras, I have a few I love and always go back to (more on that later) but over the past few months there have been a few I’ve really enjoyed using so I thought I’d make a Top Three Post all about mascaras!
Loreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture
I’m going to start with my all-time favourite mascara, I talk about this all the time! I just love it. It’s not the most volumising but it adds so much length! I find because the bristles are so short it doesn’t clump either – clumpy mascara is the bane of my life! I actually tell everyone I know to buy this mascara as I love it so much – and they do!
Loreal Paradise Extatic
If you’ve been here a while you might remember I did not like this at all! I swore I wasn’t going to use it again but one day I picked it up by mistake for a weekend away so I had to. (first world problems!) The second time around and I really like it! My mum thought i was wearing flash eyelashes as well which is a true sign of a good mascara! This lengthens and volumises however it is quite clumpy and the mascara itself is quite thick which isn’t great but I think that’s what gives the false lash effect! If you don’t mind brushing your lashes through to de-clump them then this is definitely one to give a go!
it Cosmetics Superhero
This is only a sample and I swore I was going to save it for a trip away when I only take hand luggage but I was too curious after hearing amazing things about it! This really lives up to the hype it’s one of it Cosmetics best sellers and it’s easy to see why! The brush manages to grab all the lashes and the tapered tip makes it easy to get into the corner of the eye without ending up with mascara all over the place. This gives lashes a wispy look, quite bright eyed and bushy tailed vibe, so perfect for a Monday morning!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! I really like doing Top Three posts and I have a few more if you’d like to read them! So far I’ve done lipsticks, contour and perfumes. I thought I had one on pallets but I can’t find it; if you’ve liked this and would like to see my top three palettes let me know!
Thank for reading!
Another month, another Birchbox! I kind of like this months box it’s definitely not my favourite but it’s also not the worst one I’ve received. I don’t think it’s just me who feels like this because a few blogs I read tend to say the things about them.
BLAQ Hydrogel Eye Mask
This is so cooling on the eyes. Honestly, my eyes were freezing but in a refreshing way! But did it make a difference? No. Maybe I’m tired beyond help but I looked even more tired the next day, not ideal.
Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray
This I really like! It does leave the hair a little sticky when you use it on dry hair but it’s really good at adding volume. I used this on a night out and I was really happy with the results. Not an Amy Winehouse style volume but it definitely lifted my lifeless hair! I’ll definitely be using this but not sure if I’ll repurchase.
GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Clearing Mask Treatment
I love glam glow masks and I have a travel size one of these that I’ve nearly used up so I was definitely happy to see this! It always clears my skin up when I’m feeling congested.
Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara
There was so much hype and disappointment surrounding this mascara so I was happy to receive it to try. It is good but it’s quite wet. I know I’ll love it when it drys up a little bit.
Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Foaming Shower Gel
This foams. I love it. It smells like being at a spa and it’s just an all round lovely product, maybe one of my faves from this months box!
So maybe I did like it a little more than I was expecting to. I think this is more of a practical box and I like the exciting ones! Oh well, there’s always next month…
Thanks for reading
I recently went into Boots on my dinner break in work and came out with a whole new eye look so I thought I’d share it with you here! Late to the party as ever. I was so excited to try the Maybelline x Gigi Hadid collection but I could never find it in Boots. However, every cloud and all that because when I finally did it was half price!
I went for the cool toned palette as I always wear warm shades on my lids and thought I’d try something new. I actually really like it, I love the taupe colour blended out above my crease with the purple as a transition colour from the gold lids. (Now I write that it sounds horrific – it’s nice I promise). I actually use the gold on top of the Loreal Eye Paint which makes the colour stay all day. There is a fair bit of fall out from the gold but it doesn’t transfer from the palette.
This brush is like everything I never knew I wanted. I didn’t realise how perfect it’d be for blending out matte shades but it’s changed my life – how dramatic. It makes the whole process so much easier and requires little to no skill or time. What more could you ask for in a makeup brush?
I’ve recently run out of my all time fave mascara Loreal Oh So Couture and I fancied a change so since this was half price I gave it ago. It’s not the most amazing mascara ever but I will definitely keep using it – I doubt it’s a contender for the top spot though!
I also picked up the Loreal Eye Paint that I mentioned before and on first application I was so impressed but after that first go, I feel like the pigment has halved. Has anyone else noticed this? It’s almost like I’ve used it all but I know that can’t be the case. It’s a lovely shade and lasts really well but at the moment I can’t imagine layering it without the other gold shade!
I do love a good boots haul – I must try something new at least twice a month. I should probably stop but then what would I write about? That’s my excuse anyway! I really want to read more blogs this year – leave a link to your blog below so I can check it out!
I can’t actually remember then last time I tried something and didn’t give it a second go but these past few weeks I’ve been testing a few products andddd I don’t love them.
Loreal Paradise Mascara
This mascara had so much hype I couldn’t help myself and had to purchase it. On first application I wasn’t sold, I found it to be a bit too wet and clumpy on my lashes and when I brushed them through to separate them the whole effect of the mascara disappeared and it looked basic. I did find this to make lashes more curly than normal but I was still majorly underwhelmed and I haven’t been reaching for it at all.
Oribe Wave and Shine Spray
I’m not sure what I was expecting with this to be honest. I’ve never got on well with a wave spray, sometimes a salt spray but never a wave spray. I think it’s because of my frizzy, wavy hair – it just doesnt mix well with stuff like this. I really want to like this as I’ve heard so many good things about Oribe as a brand but this made no difference to my hair whatsoever.
Charlotte Tilbury Ledgenday Lashes
I love Charlotte Tilbury products so I was sure I’d love this when I recieved a sample tube however I really didnt like it. I dont think it done much for my eyelashes and the formula was quite wet and ended up underneath my eyes after about an hour which never really happens with any other mascara.
Polaar Icy Magic
SO many people say they love this eye cream so I was excited to recieve it in my Birchbox however it literqally done nothing for my eyes. Going by the name I expected it to be cooling on the skin but it wasn’t. It’s no different to any other roller ball eye creams on the market so I wouldn’t spend £11 on repurchasing it!
So there we go, I actually really hate doing this kind of post, I’m not really into negative posts so I’m not sure if this is something I’ll do more often. I definitely find it better to read positive reviews as opposed to stuff I wouldn’t want to try. I dunno maybe its just me, do you like these kind of posts? let me know if this is something you enjoy reading!
